When membership applications are processed, the system will automatically send two emails to new members containing important information.

The first email will include log-in and password information. This log-in gives access to the members-only section of the website where members can view and modify their profiles, access the club's membership Directory, change their password, or read the minutes of club meetings. For family membership subscribers, up to 3 family members who reside at the same address can be added via the member profile page. The second email will detail how to access the members-only section using the log-in and password.

In order to be fully informed of club activities, members are strongly encouraged to create a club groups.io account. The email for new members guides new members through this process. Membership is restricted to Sacramento Wheelmen members.

The club’s groups.io email account is used by members to exchange cycling related information. For example, ride leaders use it to share ride information, including links to GPS route files for their scheduled starts, to all members who have established groups.io accounts. For many rides on the calendar, this is how members get that information. 

Most rides listed in the ride calendar or detailed in the groups.io will include a RideWithGPS route. The Sacramento Wheelmen Cycling Club has created a club library of GPS routes. Members can browse the library, but first they must apply to join the club’s account. The email to new members will provide the link needed. The browsing privilege is for members only. Routes can be downloaded from the club library to Garmin GPS units, saved to phones, and maps and cue sheets can be printed from the app.
