Mt. Diablo Challenge – This is a supported event ride, not a regular club ride. We’ll warm up with an easy 2.9-mile ride from Monte Vista High School to the official start at the Athenian School. The timed challenge then climbs 11.2 miles and 3,249 feet to the summit of Mt. Diablo, averaging a 5.7% grade. After finishing, riders descend in escorted groups on a vehicle-free mountain road back to the start, then ride to Monte Vista High School for lunch, awards, and the vendor expo.

Description: The Stockton-Delta Amateur Radio Club hosts the 18th Pedaling Paths to Independence to benefit Community Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired, the only agency in San Joaquin County that offers services to people whose vision loss impedes their ability to perform tasks of daily living. Routes traverse bucolic back roads through San Joaquin, Calaveras and Stanislaus counties. Fabulous rest stops, support and gear (SAG), radio communications, and a delectable catered post ride meal are included in the fee.
